We visited Señor Frog’s in Panama City Beach on June 24, 2025 around 9 PM to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and I cannot recommend this place at all. Upon arrival, the first thing that greets you is the foul smell from the restrooms near the entrance. I can’t imagine what they must be like inside, but it’s not a great first impression to walk into a restaurant and be met with such an awful odor.
Then there was the security guard at the entrance, an older blonde woman, who was completely unwelcoming and unfriendly, as if she didn’t want us there. After that, we were told to wait before being seated, which would’ve been fine if it weren’t for what happened next. A group of people who arrived right after us was seated immediately, while we were left waiting with no explanation.
We asked a young Hispanic staff member if we were going to be seated soon, and he just told us to wait longer. I don’t understand why they let the other group in without delay while we were ignored. Frustrated, we decided to leave.
The music inside is extremely loud—definitely not a place to have a conversation. It feels more like a party spot for young people. We’ve been to Señor Frog’s in Mazatlán and other cities before, and this was a huge disappointment. The customer service was non-existent, and based on other reviews, it seems like the food is overpriced and terrible too.
To the older blonde security guard with the terrible attitude and the young staff member who ignored us, thank you for saving us from wasting money and having an even worse experience at your unpleasant and smelly restaurant.
If you’re considering visiting, think twice before giving your money to a place with zero customer service and...
Read moreWent here the other day pretty late and it was not a great experience. The music being played was too loud and we could barely hear each other talking. With the lighting, music, and decor, it seems geared toward a younger adult crowd (my age group, but I personally did not enjoy). Service was not bad, but we’ve had better. The food (the reason we came) was underwhelming and overpriced for the quality. Now my main issue was that we brought my sister along who is 19 and a staff member came around offering each of us a free alcoholic drink coupon without carding anyone, she declined of course due to age. Then shortly after, the same staff member came around with an alcohol bottle pouring it into customers mouths and offered to each of us without carding anyone as well, including my underage sister again. We all declined. It just seemed very unprofessional for them to do that. They had karaoke as well which was actually pretty funny, but other than that it was a disappointing experience. Will not be returning. We did go quite late, so maybe it’s more kid friendly and pleasant earlier in the day, but I cannot confirm that. Also surprised at the number of reviews this place has, and good ones at that. It doesn’t make sense to me unless they are incentivizing a lot of people to make good reviews or something because every time we pass it, the place is pretty empty. If you filter the reviews to the bad ones you get a glimpse of what it is actually like though. Oh and they have a 20% charge automatically added on your bill not including tip that they don’t tell you about. Definitely not worth it if you plan on...
Read moreWe ordered to go. First off, we were told to go online and do this, but when we tried, half the menu wasn’t listed. So, I called back and he let me place the order over the phone. They told us we could order drinks to-go when we went to pick up, but the guy at the bar would not add it on to our pick up order. For both of these, they added 20% for a “service charge.” Two strawberry daiquiris and a pina colada in a normal sized cup were rang up as “fish bowls”, which were $16 a piece, then $9.60 added as this service charge, so $60.96 for three drinks. We asked about this “service charge” and the guy at the bar said “it’s because it’s to-go.” For our pick up order of $116, they added a $23.20 “service charge”, plus tax. They then had the nerve to ask if we wanted to leave a tip. After we got home, we noticed at the bottom of the receipt, it says “for your convenience a 20% service charge is added ‘ITS NOT AN OBLIGATION’”, but again, when we asked about this, we were not told we did not have to agree to this and NOT told this was something we could have opted out of, that this was just an extra charge for a to-go order. That’s over $30 in something we apparently didn’t have to pay. Even if all of this wouldn’t have happened, the food wasn’t even worth anywhere near this amount- you could’ve made the exact same thing in your kitchen. We should have known when no prices were listed on their menu on their website. This seems very scammy to us and we’ll be contacting our credit card company about this, but I wanted to let everyone know before they get screwed into the same thing as we did for completely...
